What you need to know about tolls in Croatia
Who pays
Vehicles using the tolled Croatian motorway network pay a toll, including HGVs over 3.5 tonnes.
How it is charged
A closed system is used on motorways with several entries and exits; simpler routes use an open system with a single toll plaza.
Rate factors
The toll class is derived from the number of axles; for light vehicles the height of the vehicle is also taken into account.
Crossing
Cash, payment cards and the ENC electronic tag are accepted. ENC users take no ticket at entry and pass through dedicated lanes.
Interoperability
Croatia has a published EETS domain statement, so an interoperable on-board unit can be used where the toll charger supports it.
